Pop Goes The News — British author Paula Hawkins’ thriller The Girl on the Train has been named Book of the Year by Canadian retailer Indigo.
The bestselling novel, published in January, beat more than 30,000 new books stocked by Indigo in 2015.

Pop Goes The News — When singer Janis Ian married her longtime partner Patricia Snyder at Toronto City Hall in 2003, witnesses included Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin.
Martin was among the couple’s friends who donned Hawaiian shirts for the ceremony, which was officiated by Rev. George Malcolm Sinclair of the Metropolitan United Church.
