Hart, who credits the city’s annual comedy festival with launching his career, will listen to pitches from comedians, writers, producers and other creative people at JFL.

Pop Goes The News — Actor Sam Moses, a veteran of Canadian stage and screen, has died.

Moses was a hot dog vendor in Ghostbusters, a bus passenger in the Bruce Willis drama 16 Blocks, and had a recurring role on Due South. He last appeared in this year’s comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2.

Pop Goes The News — Canadian comedian DJ Demers got enough laughs from the judges of America’s Got Talent on Tuesday night’s episode to advance to the next stage of competition.

The 30-year-old Toronto comic earned a “yes” from Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel after cracking jokes about his hearing loss and sexuality.
