Pop Goes The News – A new chapter in the Transformers movie franchise is scheduled to be shot this year in Montreal.
Production dates have not been finalized but cameras are expected to roll at both MELS Studios and MTL Grandé from early July to late September in Montreal. Additional filming will be completed in Peru.
Paramount has not announced the official title of the movie but it has been widely rumoured to be Transformers: Beast Alliance.
Montreal has previously hosted production of such films as 300, White House Down, The Immortals, X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse and the forthcoming Moonfall.
The Transformers movie franchise has grossed about $5 billion U.S. at the global box office. There were five Transformers flicks released between 2007 and 2017 as well as the spin-off Bumblebee in 2018.
