Pop Goes The News – Joaquin Phoenix will spending his summer in Montreal – along with Patti LuPone, Amy Ryan, Kylie Rogers and Nathan Lane.

Disappointment Blvd., a new film from director Ari Aster (Midsommar), is scheduled to shoot in and around the city from the end of June until October.

The plot has been kept under wraps but the movie has been described as “an intimate, decade-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time.”

Phoenix spent time late last year in Toronto while wife Rooney Mara shot Nightmare Alley. He made 1995’s To Die For in the city.
