Pop Goes The News – Alan Ritchson has won the lead role in Reacher, a new Toronto-shot Amazon series based on Lee Child’s popular character Jack Reacher.
The first season, set to go into production in November, is reportedly based on the first Jack Reacher novel, The Killing Floor.
Tom Cruise played the part in the 2012 movie Jack Reacher and its 2016 sequel Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.
Ritchson is no stranger to working in Toronto, where he plays Hank Hall in the Netflix series Titans (which begins filming of Season 3 next month). He previously starred as Thad Castle in the Montreal-shot series Blue Mountain State and played Aquaman in the made-in-Vancouver series Smallville.
Toronto is already home to another Amazon series, The Boys, which will begin rolling on Season 3 early next year.
