Pop Goes The News – Armie Hammer is returning to Montreal to star in the thriller Dreamland.
Hammer, 32, was last in the city in late 2017 to play Martin D. Ginsburg in the Ruth Bader Ginsburg biopic On The Basis of Sex.
The actor made headlines this week when it was reported that he was in talks to take over the role of Batman on the big screen. Hammer told Yahoo! UK: “No one who can actually give me the job has asked me if I’m interested … I can conclusively tell you that no one has checked my availability, which is a bummer.”
Written and directed by Nicholas Jarecki (Arbitrage), Dreamland tells three stories about opioids from the perspective of a Fentanyl trafficker, a recovering addict, and a university researcher.
Also starring in Dreamland are Gary Oldman, Canadian actress Evangeline Lilly and German star Veronica Ferres.
Cameras are scheduled to roll in Montreal from March 2 to April 17.
