Pop Goes The News — CBS is shooting its new action-adventure series Blood & Treasure in Montreal this summer.
The 13-episode drama is scheduled to air on the network next summer.
Blood & Treasure is about an antiquities expert and an art thief who pair up to catch a terrorist who finances his attacks with stolen treasures.
“As they crisscross the globe hunting their target,” reads a release from CBS, “they unexpectedly find themselves at the centre of a 2,000-year-old battle for the cradle of civilization.”
The series stars Matt Barr (Sleepy Hollow), Sofia Pernas (Jane the Virgin) and Katia Winter (Sleepy Hollow).
Montreal will double for several locales, including New York City and Monaco. Locations in the city include the Olympic Stadium and several spots in Old Montreal.
Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man) will reportedly direct episodes written by Matt Federman and Stephen Scaia (the team behind Limitless and the Toronto-shot series Warehouse 13.)
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is “an ambitious project” and “large in scope.”
