Pop Goes The News – Carla Gugino is heading to Toronto this summer to shoot the TV series Jett.

The 46-year-old actress will play master thief Daisy “Jett” Kowalski, who agrees to do one last job with her former partner – who gets killed in the process. She ends up working for a powerful Russian crime boss.

The series, which will shoot from mid-June to late November, will air on U.S. cable channel Cinemax.

Jett will be written and directed by Sebastian Gutierrez, who happens to be Gugino’s longtime partner.

“This is something that’s been in the making for quite some time,” Gugino tweeted on April 18. “Persistence and patience are never easy but so important in this business.

“I’m VERY excited to get to actually dig in and make this awesome show.”

Gugino has a long list of film and TV credits, including the Spy Kids movies and TV’s Entourage.
