Pop Goes The News — Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick will be in Toronto this summer to star in a thriller.
The movie is an adaptation of Darcey Bell’s novel A Simple Favor, which was published earlier this year.
Directed by Paul Feig (Spy, Bridesmaids), it’s the story of Connecticut “mommy blogger” Stephanie whose friend Emily disappeared during a business trip.
The script was written by Jessica Sharzer (American Horror Story).
Filming is scheduled to take place from mid-August to early October, based out of Pinewood Toronto Studios.
Lively, who has been married to Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds since 2012, made 2015’s Age of Adaline in Vancouver.
Kendrick appeared in the made-in-Vancouver Twilight movies and made 2010’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World in Toronto.
