Pop Goes The News — The hilarious Bridget Everett is coming to Toronto to star in a pilot for Amazon.

The 44-year-old comic and cabaret singer will shoot Love You More, which is being produced by Sex and the City creator Michael Patrick King with Bobcat Goldthwait and Game of Thrones producer Carolyn Strauss.

The single-camera comedy will be filmed in Toronto beginning in May.

Everett, who is credited as “Drunk Party Girl” in an episode of Sex and the City, has appeared regularly on Inside Amy Schumer and in the comedy film Trainwreck.

She and Schumer became close friends after meeting at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal.

Time Out named Everett one of the funniest people in New York and the New York Times described her as “a mouthy, flesh-jiggling early Bette Midler.”

Everett is not for everyone, though. Denise Duguay of the Montreal Gazette called her “outrageous” but John Doyle of The Globe and Mail opined that “she is profoundly, odiously, sleazily not funny.”
