Pop Goes The News — Former True Blood star Stephen Moyer will make his feature directional debut in Toronto early next year.
The 47-year-old English actor will helm Parting Glass starring his True Blood co-star and real-life wife, Anna Paquin.
The drama also stars — and was written by — Denis O’Hare (This Is Us), who had a recurring role on True Blood.
All three made a teaser for the film in Montreal in October. Cameras will roll in January.

Parting Glass, which takes its name from a traditional Scottish song, was inspired by the suicide of one of O’Hare’s three sisters and the family’s journey to understand what happened.
Though it is Moyer’s first time directing a film, he previously called the shots on several episodes of True Blood.
He’s also no stranger to Canada. Earlier this month he spent time in Montreal, where Paquin was making the series Bellevue.
Moyer also starred in the 2012 horror film The Barrens, which was made in and around Toronto.
Paquin, who was born in Winnipeg, also stars in an adaptation of Alias Grace, which was shot this year in Toronto.
