‘Game of Thrones’ star Kit Harington takes a smoke break in Montreal

Pop Goes The NewsGame of Thrones star Kit Harington was spotted Monday morning smoking outside a building in Montreal.

Harington, who plays Jon Snow on the wildly popular HBO series, sported a wedding ring — and plenty of stripes — while in character on the set of his new movie, The Death and Life of John F. Donovan.

The 29-year-old British actor plays the titular role in the film, which is the English-language debut for director Xavier Dolan.

Dolan co-wrote the script with fellow Montreal-born director Jacob Tierney.

Production continues in the city through August before moving to Prague, London, and New York.

The Death and Life of John F. Donovan tells the story of an actor (Harington) whose pen-pal relationship with a young actor is uncovered 10 years after his death.

The movie also stars Jessica Chastain, Natalie Portman, Susan Sarandon, Nicholas Hoult, Kathy Bates, Thandie Newton, Bella Thorne, and Canada’s Emily Hampshire.

This is the third film Harington has made in Canada. He shot 2012’s Silent Hill: Revelation and 2014’s Pompeii in Toronto.
