Pop Goes The News — The TV remake of cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show will be filmed in Toronto next year.
Cameras will roll on the two-hour TV movie for Fox beginning in March.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show reboot, directed by Kenny Ortega (High School Musical), will star Laverne Cox (Orange is the New Black) as Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
“I am so honored to be a part of the Rocky Horror legacy,” Cox wrote on Instagram in October.
No additional casting has been announced.
The 1975 movie, starring Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon, was written by Jim Sharman and Richard O’Brien and based on their 1973 play The Rocky Horror Show.
Fox will air its updated version in Fall 2016.
