CBS summer series ‘American Gothic’ to shoot in Canada

Pop Goes The News — The upcoming TV series American Gothic will be shot in Canada.

The 13-episode drama, created for CBS by former Good Wife writer Corinne Brinkerhoff and author James Frey, is scheduled to be filmed in Toronto from March to July.

Set in Boston, American Gothic follows a socially-connected family that believes their recently deceased patriarch was a serial killer — and one of them might have been his accomplice.

Casting details have not yet been revealed.

The series is scheduled to air in the summer of 2016.

American Gothic is co-produced by Amblin Television, which currently shoots Minority Report in Vancouver.

The series comes as good news for production crews in Toronto still coping with the end of Rookie Blue, Defiance, Beauty and the Beast and Lost Girl.
