Pop Goes The News — A movie written by Canadian actors Christian Lloyd and Kristin Wallace was named winner of the Audience Award on Tuesday by the 2015 San Diego Film Festival.
Moments of Clarity, directed by Stev Elam, was chosen as the Best Feature at this year’s festival, which wrapped up Oct. 4.
Lloyd and Wallace wrote the screenplay based on an original story by Wallace and Cody Brown. The film follows two repressed young women who learn about their lives while on a journey to a church jamboree.
The film stars Lyndsy Fonseca, Eric Roberts and Xander Berkeley.
Lloyd is a prolific actor who has appeared in films like Maps to the Stars and TV series like Covert Affairs. He recently had a run on the Toronto stage in the Mirvish production of The Heart of Robin Hood.
Wallace has appeared in a number of projects on screen. She also stars in Moments of Clarity.
Moments of Clarity is currently on the film festival circuit and receiving acclaim. It will be shown Oct. 18 at the New York City Indie Film Festival and next month at the Napa Valley Film Festival.
