Pop Goes The News — When singer Janis Ian married her longtime partner Patricia Snyder at Toronto City Hall in 2003, witnesses included Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin.
Martin was among the couple’s friends who donned Hawaiian shirts for the ceremony, which was officiated by Rev. George Malcolm Sinclair of the Metropolitan United Church.
The involvement of the Game of Thrones creator was revealed Thursday by The New York Times.
Ian and Snyder tied the knot on Aug. 27, 2003 while in the city for the World Science Fiction Convention.
Ian, 64, is best known for her mid-‘70s hit “At Seventeen.”
