Pop Goes The News — Actor Gerard Butler will be in Toronto this fall to shoot The Headhunter’s Calling.
The 45-year-old star of Law Abiding Citizen and Olympus Has Fallen will play a career-driven man who puts his life on hold when his 10-year-old son is diagnosed with cancer.
Mark Williams will make his directorial debut with the drama, which was written by Bill Dubuque (The Judge). Cameras as set to roll beginning Oct. 26.
Additional casting details have not been announced.
Butler is no stranger to Canada. He made 2007’s epic 300 in Montreal — the city where he spent nearly a year of his early childhood.
As a teenager, the Scottish star spent plenty of time in Toronto, where his father Edward owned a hat and umbrella store.
Butler later worked as a bouncer at a Toronto bar.
In 2011, he was back in Toronto to promote his film Coriolanus.
